Parcel routes out of Pittsburgh
Routes run here every day. We are not actively adding contractors in this metro at the moment, so there is no open vacancy to apply to — but if you want to be first in line when one opens, send your details.
The numbers
All figures are gross, before expenses and taxes, for an independent contractor paid on Form 1099. The rate per stop is set by the assigned route — how far it runs, how tightly the stops sit together, parcel size, and whether it is business or residential.
Where the route runs
Load-out is at 1470 River Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Routes cover the North Side, Millvale, Etna and the surrounding Allegheny County addresses.
What you need
A vehicle that holds 120+ parcels
Most contractors here run a minivan. A cargo van or a large SUV works too. It has to be yours and it has to be reliable.
Valid U.S. driver's licence
Plus work authorisation. An EAD is accepted.
A smartphone
Scanning and navigation run on it all day.
Ability to pass a background check
Standard screening before your first route.
Reliability
The route goes out whether or not it is convenient. Everything else here is paperwork by comparison.
English or Russian
Dispatch works in both. You do not need perfect English — you need to be reachable.
You are a contractor here, not an employee
OnRoute Express Inc. contracts strictly on Form 1099. You run your own operation and we buy a service from it: your vehicle, your schedule agreed with the manager, your expenses and your own deductions. Any business structure works — sole proprietor, LLC or S-Corp — and an entity is never a requirement. Nothing on this page is an offer of employment.
Check us before you call
You are being asked to put your own vehicle on the road for a company you have never heard of. Every motor carrier's record is public: OnRoute Express Inc., USDOT 4346370, MC 1698829. Both numbers are searchable in the FMCSA SAFER system, and the company site is onroute.express.
If you want to be on the list
There is no open vacancy in Pittsburgh right now. Routes run out of this load-out point every day, and contractors here are already assigned. We are not taking applications for a position that does not exist.
If you want to be contacted when one opens, call or write and say which metro you are in and what you drive. Active hiring right now is in Toledo.
